Scary Good Animated Logo
Tasked with creating an animated logo for a food or beverage brand, I chose a coffee company called “Scary Good”. I really like Halloween and supernatural things, so creating a logo with a flying ghost was right up my alley. The logo is Monsterific BB, customized, using only red, black, and white to convey a horror movie feel. I then storyboarded it and animated the logo in Animate CC.
I started with sketches of horror and ghost imagery, playing with type placement. I then used a storyboard to plan my animation, starting with the ghost close to the camera before flying backwards and making a loop up to its resting point. After storyboarding, I used motion tweens in Adobe Animate and added Creative Commons sound effects.
